A 31-year-old woman who police say falsely reported her 3-year-old daughter as being kidnapped at gunpoint in Delaware earlier this year has been extradited to Maryland where she faces murder charges in connection with the child’s killing.
Darrian Lynnelle Randle’s transfer to Maryland came through an agreement between Delaware’s and Maryland’s governors, according to the Cecil County, Maryland, state’s attorney. This means Randle will face charges that claim she beat her daughter, Nola Dinkins, to death in June before she faces charges lodged against her in Delaware where she was being held until recently.
Randle, on Sept. 25, appeared virtually from the Cecil County Detention Center in Elkton for her initial appearance in the county’s Circuit Court after being indicted by a Cecil County grand jury.

During her hearing, Judge Robert E. Sentman granted prosecutors’ request that Randle be held without bond, the state’s attorney said.
What happened
Randle and her boyfriend, Cedrick A. Britten, were arrested after investigators said they figured out Randle had been lying about Nola being kidnapped at gunpoint the night of June 10 from Gender Road in Ogletown.
Several hundred people gathered to remember Nola Dinkins at a North East, Maryland, park on June 16. The mother of the 3-year-old girl is charged in the killing.
The kidnapping report was a ruse, police said, to cover up that Nola was already dead. Court documents obtained by Delaware Online/The News Journal said Nola’s killing occurred on June 9 at Britten’s North East, Maryland, home.

Maryland State Police found “human remains consistent with that of a young child” in a vacant lot in North East on June 11. The remains were later confirmed to be those of Nola.
Randle faces 11 charges in Maryland, including first- and second-degree murder. After the Maryland matter is resolved, the State’s Attorney’s Office said Randle can then be returned to Delaware where she faces one felony count of false reporting for calling New Castle County police on the evening of June 10 to say her daughter was abducted in Ogletown.
Britten also faces 11 charges, including first-degree child abuse resulting in the death of a child under the age of 13.
His trial date has been scheduled for December, according to Maryland’s online judiciary case search. Nothing appeared scheduled online for Randle as of Sept. 26.
