MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Says She’d ‘Love’ To Have More Republican Guests But Can’t Because ‘White House Kills Them’

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle claimed she would “love” to have more Republican guests on her show, but blamed President Donald Trump’s White House for making it near impossible.

Ruhle joined Stephen A. Smith on his Straight Shooter show on Wednesday and shared that a “big frustration” for her currently is booking Republican guests. Ruhle said she does not want “spokespeople” or “talking heads” on her 11th Hour show, but there are few options when it comes to MAGA.

Ruhle argued the White House “kills” any Republicans who criticize Trump publicly and all that’s left beyond that group are people performing for the president by “owning the libs.”

“I will tell you, and it’s a big frustration for me — I would love to have more Republicans on my air, and I think, unfortunately, right now, this moment that we’re in, Republicans who will come on TV and be critical of this president for any reasons get annihilated if they’re critical of him — the White House kills them,” she said.

Ruhle added she does not want her show turning into the “NBA” where pundits simply “slam dunk” on each other.

“The group who will come on for the sole purpose of owning the libs or performing for the president — I want to be clear, nobody is invited on my program who wants to own anybody, right? This ain’t the NBA. Nobody’s here to slam dunk anyone,” she said.

Ruhle was named the full time host of 11th Hour in 2022. MSNBC is set to go through a rebrand soon (Nov. 15), becoming MSNOW.

Ruhle told Smith she wants MSNOW viewed by the public as a “smart organization that covers the truth” while arguing too many news outlets chase the “fictional middle.”

“I think this idea that people are searching to cover the fictional middle — I think the middle is fiction,” she said. “The truth is just the truth. We’re going to cover the truth and then analyze it and someone can say, but you sound so left because you’re going after the president. We’re not going after the president. We’re covering the truth.”
