Specifically, the list highlighted the foliage that lines the one-mile path around Lake Watauga in Centennial Park. In addition to the colorful leaves, the Travel article encouraged visitors to the area to explore the park, noting that the park is a popular spot for festivals and other community events. According to the Centennial Park Conservancy, some of those events include Yoga in the Park on Tuesdays and Musicians Corner on Fridays through Sept. 26.

The article also encouraged any visitors to the area to explore the Parthenon. The Central Park Conservancy noted that Alan LeQuire, who helped sculpt the Parthenon’s iconic Athena statue, has a special sculpture exhibit through Sept. 21. You can also learn more about the behind-the-scenes of the Athena statue through the “Goddess in Progress” exhibit throughout autumn and into April 2026.
