The Governor of the State of Connecticut, United States, has bestowed the prestigious HBIU Global Peace Award on former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Nicolas Felix.
Connecticut Governor, Ned Lamont, also set aside August 23, 2025, to celebrate the Nigerian philanthropist.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by the pastor-turned-politician.
According to him, the declaration was done at Hartford, Connecticut, US.
The statement read, “The Connecticut governor praised him (Dr Nicolas Felix) for his selfless dedication to providing humanitarian services, saving lives, alleviating suffering and promoting basic human dignity, which he said has had a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals.
“Ned Lamont noted that his tireless efforts embody the highest ideals of compassion, neutrality, and moral decency, serving as a shining example of humanity’s potential for kindness and generosity.”
In the acceptance speech, Felix thanked both the governor of Connecticut, Chancellor of Heart Bible International University, Pro Donneth Macintosh and the entire board and faculty members of the institution for considering him for the award.
He noted that the governor’s proclamation of August 23, 2025, to honour him further amplifies the message that serving others is the highest calling of leadership, which will spur him to do greater exploits for both Nigeria and the global community.
Fekix, an indigene of Edo State, was the youngest APC presidential aspirant in the 2023 primary election that produced President Bola Tinubu as the party flag flagbearer.
He joins eminent Nigerians such as Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Akinwunmi Adesina, Bernadette Oramah, Kevin Ibeh, and others to be honoured on the global stage.
