The Public-Private Partnership model adopted by the Ogun State Government has continued to yield positive results, producing a new set of certified digital technicians trained to tackle hardware challenges, configure digital equipment, and provide advanced technical support.
The achievement was highlighted during the convocation ceremony of the pilot associates of the free CyberSquad Training Programme, organised by the state government in partnership with Cybervilla, and held at Ogun TechHub, Abeokuta.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Cybervilla, Ifeanyi Adirika, described the collaboration as a testament to Governor Dapo Abiodun’s commitment to genuine public-private partnerships that empower young people through technology.
“Partnering with the Ogun State government to provide free technical support and training to its teeming youths demonstrates the sincerity of this PPP initiative,” Adirika said. “Cybervilla is proud to be one of the state’s core investors in technology.”
He urged interested persons to register for the next training session via https://bit.ly/cybersqaudabeokutacohort2, adding that the graduates from the first cohort have formed a network of skilled and forward-thinking digital technicians redefining troubleshooting, repairs, equipment installation, and technical support across Nigeria while promoting Ogun State’s growing tech identity.
In his goodwill message, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Dayo Abiodun, congratulated the graduates, noting that the training had removed barriers for many aspiring tech engineers.
“Through these modules, anyone with determination can learn, grow, and become employable in the digital space,” he said.
Abiodun recalled that the partnership between the Ogun State Government and Cybervilla, initiated earlier in the year, was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen youth development and build a vibrant digital and vocational ecosystem to support the state’s digital economy.
Also speaking, the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, represented by the Director of Standard Regulations, Planning and Research at the Bureau of Information Technology, Olatundun Adekunte, commended the initiative and congratulated the graduates.
He praised Governor Abiodun for establishing Ogun TechHub, which he said had exposed many young people to the opportunities available in technology and digital marketing.
“I urge the graduating students to spread awareness about this programme so that more young people can benefit and unemployment can be reduced to the barest minimum,” he added.
One of the beneficiaries, Timilehin Ajisebutu, who spoke on behalf of the graduating trainees, expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Government and Cybervilla for making their dream of becoming certified digital technicians a reality.
“We are grateful for this life-changing opportunity and promise to put the knowledge and skills gained during the three-month programme to effective use,” he said.
