Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has described the late former Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, as a patriotic Nigerian whose contributions to the nation’s security architecture were immeasurable.
This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua.
Okpebholo eulogised the late IGP as an illustrious son of Edo State and a dedicated public servant.
“Late Solomon Arase was a patriotic Nigerian whose contributions to the country’s security architecture were immeasurable.
“We have lost a great mind, a dedicated public servant, and an exceptional leader.
“Dr. Arase was a man of integrity and honour who served our nation with distinction, rising to the pinnacle of his career through sheer hard work and dedication,” he said.
The governor highlighted Arase’s illustrious career in the Nigeria Police Force, noting that his tenure as the 18th Inspector-General of Police was marked by significant reforms, professionalism, and a strong commitment to community policing.
“His legacy of service will be remembered for generations. He was a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration to many young police officers and aspiring leaders,” the statement added.
Okpebholo extended his condolences to the Arase family and the Nigeria Police Force, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased’s soul and for God to grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
