As the 2027 presidential election draws closer, a delegation of former lawmakers from Ondo State paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, at his Abuja office on Tuesday.

The group, led by former Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olumide Araoyinbo, said the visit was aimed at fostering collaboration to ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu in Ondo State in 2027.

Other members of the delegation included Segun Akinyode, Tayo Abidakun, Fola Olasehinde, Dare Emiola, Oyebo Aladetan, Borokini, and Adeboro Onibalusi.

Addressing the minister, Araoyinbo expressed pride and gratitude for the reception, noting the delegation’s renewed hope in working together for the APC’s success.

“On behalf of my colleagues, the former members of the Ondo State House of Assembly, I stand before you today with pride, gratitude, and renewed hope,” he said.

He added that the visit was not merely ceremonial but a declaration of their commitment to support the minister and the APC.

“We have come to Abuja as proud sons and daughters of Ondo State who recognise excellence. Today, we are here to appreciate and encourage you, Honourable Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for your remarkable, impactful, and inspiring leadership since assuming office as Minister of Interior in the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Araoyinbo said.

“Your performance has been exceptional. You have brought dignity, efficiency, and innovation into the ministry, redefining public service with vision, competence, and integrity. You have made Ondo State proud.

“But beyond our commendation, we are here to forge a stronger partnership with you. Each of us maintains strong grassroots networks and deep connections with the masses in our constituencies. Please accept this visit as both a gesture of appreciation and a firm declaration of our commitment to walk this journey with you, shoulder to shoulder, until the goal is achieved.”

In response, Minister Tunji-Ojo thanked the delegation for the visit and pledged his support.

“I’m happy to receive you today. You can count on me for support, and I strongly believe that together, we shall deliver victory for President Bola Tinubu to continue his Renewed Hope Agenda in 2027,” he said.
