One dead, one injured after a drive-by shooting in SE Oklahoma City

Two people have been arrested after a reported drive-by shooting in southeast Oklahoma City that left one dead and another injured.

Police responded to the shooting at 600 SE 21st St. around 8 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, where they found 56-year-old James Blue struck and killed by gunfire, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department. An unnamed 42-year-old female was wounded but is expected to recover.

According to investigators, an 18-year-old male and a 20-year-old female fired at the house from a vehicle before fleeing to Wewoka. The two were arrested by law enforcement that day in the city about 80 miles east of Oklahoma City. They were transported to and booked at the Oklahoma County Detention Center at around 9 p.m. on a murder complaint.

Charges have not have been formally filed as of Aug. 16. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the homicide tip line at 405-297-1200.
