The Osun State Polytechnic, Iree Alumni Association has announced plans to construct a 1,500-capacity amphitheatre to support infrastructure development in the institution.
The National President of the association, Yakub Adebayo, said the amphitheatre was part of the N965m project plan, which will commence in early 2026.
He explained that the amphitheatre would gulp N890m, while the association also planned to construct a new gate for the polytechnic at N75m.
Adebayo spoke on Wednesday while unveiling activities to mark the association’s 31st anniversary at its secretariat in Iree, Osun State.
He described the anniversary as a celebration of resilience, unity, and sustained progress.
The president said the association had evolved from a small network of graduates into a dynamic body connecting professionals, innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in various sectors within and outside the country.
The president commended OSPOLY, which was established in 1991, for its continued role in shaping Nigeria’s technical and vocational landscape.
He said, “A major highlight of this year’s celebration is the unveiling of the multi-million-naira 1,500-capacity Alumni Amphitheatre and the new School Gate Project — a bold symbol of our collective commitment to supporting infrastructure and enhancing the learning environment at our alma mater.
“As we celebrate 31 years of shared history and collective achievements, we also recommit ourselves to shaping the future of technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
“OSPAA will continue to stand as a strong pillar for Osun State Polytechnic, Iree — supporting academic advancement, infrastructural development, mentorship, and opportunities for students and alumni alike.”
