Police have identified the Pennsylvania man killed in a Sept. 13 motorcycle crash in Millsboro.
Brian Irons, 52, was involved the fatal crash after his Honda motorcycle collided with a car, according to Delaware State Police. The York resident was traveling at “at a high rate of speed,” per police, after running a red light. By the morning of Monday, Sept. 15, police released his identity.
The crash happened about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Dupont Boulevard, or U.S. 113, and Centerview Drive. Police said Irons was traveling north when he failed to stop for a red signal and entered the intersection.
At the same time, a Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 21-year-old Millsboro man had the green light and was traveling west through the intersection, police said. Authorities determined that the motorcycle hit the car’s left front side, throwing the rider from the bike.

Dupont Boulevard was closed for more than three hours while the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated.
