Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has said that the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up to recover government properties, funds and related matters has nothing to do with witch-hunting.
Otti stated this Tuesday in his Nvosi in Isialangwa South country home when members of the panel, led by its chairman, Hon. Justice Florence Duroha-Igwe presented final copy of the report to him
He said, āSetting up the panel has nothing to do with witch-hunting or scape-goatism. We just needed to know what happened. Proper handover was not done and we were groping
āāA lot of people had concerns and those concerns needed to be investigated. We are going to take the report very serious and will continue to ensure that the right thing is done.
āOur government is one that ensures the right thing is done.
We will not not lose anything by insisting that the right thing is done. We will insist that the right thing is doneā
The governor assured that all issues raised in the report must be dealth with.
Earlier while submitting the report of the panel, Hon. Justice Florence Duroha-Igwe (retd) explained out of the 350 petitions and memoranda received, we were able to hear, conclude and submit our Report on 278.
āOn that occasion, Your Excellency, graciously directed that we return to work on the remaining 72 Petitions and Memoranda left unheard. You did not wish that any Abian should be sent home without being heardā.
She stated that the report was in 2 Volumes; Addendum to the Main Report and Addendum to the Proceedings
