Jonesing for some chicken fingers? Raising Cane’s, the popular fast-casual restaurant with the laser-focused menu, is continuing its recent explosive expansion with seven new locations on the East Coast in October, including another new one in Florida.
The new spots are part of the Baton Rouge-based chain’s goal to get a presence in every U.S. state. Raising Cane’s opened 118 locations in 2024 and plans to open nearly 100 more in 2025.
The first Florida Raising Cane’s opened in Miami’s South Beach area in 2022 but it’s spreading fast. Ten of the 25 Cane’s in the Sunshine State have opened since April 2024, including recent spots in Jacksonville and St. Petersburg, with another planned to open in Miramar by the end of October. Some eager fans camped out overnight, waiting for a taste.
More Florida locations are in the works.
“The October East Coast expansion advances the Brand’s broader goal of owning and operating over 1,600 Restaurants nationwide and becoming a top 10 U.S. Restaurant Brand by the end of the decade,” the chicken chain told USA TODAY.

Started nearly 30 years ago, Raising Cane’s avoids a complicated menu and focuses on doing a few things well.
Your options are fresh (not frozen) cooked-to-order chicken fingers with a signature dipping sauce fans crave. Or you can go bigger and order a sandwich, which is three chicken fingers on a toasted bun with Cane’s Sauce and lettuce. Sides include buttered Texas toast, crinkle-cut fries, coleslaw, and that’s it.
The variety comes in how many chicken fingers you want, which can run anywhere from one a la carte finger to combos from three to six fingers and sides, or tailgate packages with 25 to 300 finger combos.
Wendy’s enters the chicken tenders marketplace
Cane’s isn’t the only chicken fingers player out there. It’s a crowded market that just got busier.
In September, Wendy’s launched its new Wendys Tendys as the latest addition to its chicken offerings, which include Chicken Nuggets, Classic Chicken Sandwich, Crispy Chicken BLT Sandwich, Asiago Ranch Classic Chicken Club Sandwich and spicy versions of each.
Wendy’s said its new Tendys are “flavor-packed and savory, made with seasoned, crispy breading and juicy, all-white-meat chicken. They’re everything a tender fan could want: crunchy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside.”
