The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed her commitment to youth empowerment through education with the commissioning of ten new Digital Learning Centres across the country.

In a statement posted on X by the Presidency of Nigeria on Wednesday, the First Lady said the initiative—implemented under the Renewed Hope Initiative —aims to “equip young Nigerians with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in a digital world.”

PUNCH Online recalls on October 10 2025, that Tinubu disclosed that her husband, President Bola Tinubu, was creating an enabling environment to harness the creativity and talents of the youth, which he described as the future of the country. She also called on youths to be committed to hard work and diligence, imbibe compassion for one another, work together in unity, and be patient.

The centres, inaugurated virtually from the State House in Abuja, are located in Abia, Delta, Edo, Kano, Katsina, Lagos, Nasarawa, Ondo, Yobe, and Zamfara States. The project, carried out in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency, is part of efforts to promote technological literacy and bridge the gap between education and employability.

Senator Tinubu explained that the initiative goes beyond providing computers and internet access, stressing that it is about “nurturing creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship among Nigeria’s youth.”

According to her, the project aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s developmental agenda, complementing the Federal Government’s drive to build a knowledge-based economy where “every child, regardless of background or geography, has access to quality digital learning opportunities.”

She added, “Through the Renewed Hope Initiative, we are ensuring that no community is left behind in Nigeria’s digital transformation journey.”

The Renewed Hope Initiative’s Digital Learning Project, she noted, reinforces the government’s commitment to inclusive growth and human capital development by empowering students and communities, especially in underserved areas, to participate fully in the digital age.
