DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Federal law enforcement has arrested an individual who allegedly escaped from a jail last week in southern Ohio.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office in Kentucky reported late Monday that Jerry Cooper, the alleged inmate who reportedly escaped the Brown County Detention Center in Georgetown, Ohio on Sept. 15, was taken into custody in Louisville, Kentucky, by the FBI.
According to the sheriff’s office, two individuals allegedly “picked him up and took him to Louisville” on Monday.
The two individuals are facing charges of hindering prosecution or apprehension and escape. Other federal charges are possible, according to the sheriff’s office.
The FBI had offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Cooper.
