A Florida judge slapped Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) with a restraining order Tuesday requiring him to stay away from his ex-girlfriend, telling the congressman he found his testimony to not be believable.

Mills, a 45-year-old Army veteran who has co-founded several security and defense contracting companies, has found his name in a slew of negative headlines over the past year, including multiple on-the-record stolen valor accusations from soldiers who served with him in combat, a House Ethics Committee investigation into his business dealings and financial disclosures, a report he was being evicted from his D.C. penthouse apartment after his landlord accused him of owing $85,000, an accusation in February from 27-year-old Sarah Raviani that he had assaulted her at that D.C. apartment, and then in September, Lindsey Langston, 26, the current reigning Miss United States and a Florida GOP state committeewoman, filed a restraining order petition against Mills.

The police report regarding Raviani’s alleged assault said officers observed “bruises on her arm which appeared fresh” and described her as “physically shaking and scared.” A warrant was issued for Mills’ arrest but then Raviani recanted her accusations and he was not arrested.

Langston’s petition included numerous allegations against Mills, describing how she broke up with him after learning he was also in a relationship with Raviani from the news reports, but he continued to aggressively pursue and harass her for months, ignoring her repeated rejections and requests to leave her alone.

According to Langston, “the threats from Cory intensified over time,” and included “emotional manipulation,” “physical violence against whoever I date in the future,” and threats to release nude images and sexually explicit videos of her, which would violate the Miss United States pageant’s code of conduct and jeopardize her crown.

Columbia County Circuit Judge Fred Koberlein Jr. presided over the case at the Lake City courthouse, a small north Florida town where Langston lives.

Roger Sollenberger with Drop Site News, who had covered Langston’s initial filing of the restraining order petition, reported on Koberlein’s ruling.

The judge’s order requires Mills to refrain from attempting any contact with Langston, to stay at least 500 feet from her, and prohibits Mills from referring to her on “Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Tik Tok, or any other social media platform.”

According to a report by The Orlando Sentinel, during the two days of testimony, Mills denied threatening Langston or her potential future partners, claimed he had deleted any compromising videos of her, and claimed he couldn’t access them anyway because his phone was damaged.

Koberlein did not find Mills believable, describing the congressman’s testimony about his relationship with Langston “difficult to comprehend and for the most part incomprehensible,” and adding that Mills “offered no credible rebuttal” to Langston’s testimony.

The judge wrote in his order that Mills “never told the truth to [Langston] concerning his relationship with [Raviani] until he was placed under oath in this matter and underwent a vigorous cross-examination on September 26, 2025, including being confronted with social media postings made by [Raviani].”

Koberlein noted that Mills had ignored at least eleven requests from Langston to leave her alone, continued to call and text Langston after she filed for the restraining order using Raviani’s phone, contacted her family members, and also “caused a public employee under his direct supervision” to contact Langston.

Accordingly, wrote Koberlein, Mills had caused Langston “substantial emotional distress” with his “harassing communications,” and she did have “a reasonable cause to believe she is in imminent danger of becoming the victim of another act of dating violence without an injunction being entered.”

The restraining order is effective until Jan. 1, 2026.
