Six Powerball tickets sold in Washington missed the $1.79 billion jackpot but still won big, lottery officials said.
Four tickets won $50,000 in the Sept. 6 drawing after matching four numbers and the Powerball, according to a spokesperson for Washington’s Lottery. Another two tickets included a Power Play add-on that brought their winning totals to $100,000.
Nationwide, tickets sold in Texas and Missouri were grand prize winners and will split the near-record-breaking jackpot, while millions more tickets won prizes from $4 all the way up to $2 million, McClatchy News previously reported.
The winning numbers were white balls 11, 23, 44, 61 and 62, and red Powerball 17. The Power Play multiplier was 2.
