The newly inaugurated Sokoto Advancement Forum has pledged to collaborate with the Sokoto State Police Command in a bid to strengthen security and complement government efforts in tackling crime and unrest.
A delegation led by the forum’s Chairman, Prof. Muhammad Wali, visited the Police Command Headquarters on Tuesday, where they were received by Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Musa, and his management team.
Wali explained that the SAF, launched on April 30, 2025, is a non-partisan civil society platform comprising stakeholders across Sokoto State. He said the group was established to harness the wisdom, experience, and resources of citizens in driving progress and stability.
“Security remains central to development, and we recognise the police as the lead agency for internal security. SAF is committed to forging a strong working relationship with the Command,” Wali said.
Responding, CP Musa commended the initiative, describing it as a positive step towards bridging the gap between security agencies and the public.
“This kind of collaboration will no doubt strengthen our security architecture and foster a safer environment for the economic and social growth of Sokoto State,” he said.
