Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, on Wednesday paid tribute to the state’s founding fathers and past leaders, commending their vision and sacrifices that have shaped Anambra’s growth over the past 34 years.
In a post on his Facebook page, Soludo described Anambra as a “divine project” and a “bright promise etched into the map of Nigeria,” noting that the state has consistently punched above its weight despite being one of the smallest in the country by landmass.
“Today, we celebrate not just in commemoration, but in reflective rededication. From our first Military Administrator, Navy Capt Joseph Abulu, to my immediate predecessor, Chief Willie Maduaburochukwu Obiano, Anambra has continued on a trajectory of remarkable growth,” he wrote.
Soludo highlighted the state’s achievements in producing some of Nigeria’s brightest minds, successful entrepreneurs, and visionary leaders.
“From our bustling commercial hubs to our academic institutions, from innovative industries to our rich cultural heritage, Anambra has remained on the rise,” he added.
He called on Ndi Anambra to unite in advancing the state, saying, “With faith in God and confidence in our ability, we can build the prosperous homeland of our dreams.”
Concluding his message, Soludo wished the state a happy 34th anniversary: “God bless Anambra State! God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. May Anambra continue to win!”
