The North Carolina-based specialty supermarket chain Fresh Market is closing its Naperville location. The move will result in layoffs for 47 Illinois workers.
“As a growing company, we regularly evaluate our store portfolio to ensure alignment with our strategic goals,” a Fresh Market spokesperson said. “After careful consideration, we have made the decision to close our location in Naperville. We are committed to supporting our affected team members throughout this transition and are grateful for their contributions.”
Fresh Market reported the cuts Oct. 14 as part of the Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. The layoffs will take place Dec. 14.
