The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress will on Wednesday welcome Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, to the party.
Kefas, according to APC officials, will formally join the party on the said day, putting an end to months of speculations about his move to dump the Peoples Democratic Party.
Speaking with our correspondent on Saturday, the National Secretary of the APC, Ajibola Basiru, said all preparations had been made to receive Kefas.
âThe entire National Working Committee members of the APC will receive Governor Kefas on November 19. We are prepared for the event,â he said.
Kefas is one of the remaining governors of the PDP, and had for almost five months been in the news for possible defection to the APC.
The Taraba governor will join three other governors who dumped the PDP for APC.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, on April 23, 2025 joined the APC, followed by Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom on June 6, 2025, and Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, on November 3.
Sunday PUNCH sighted an official invitation card of inviting Kefas defection to the APC on the social media on Saturday.
According to the IV, the defection will take place by 1pm at Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo, the state capital.
