Republican Sen.Ā Ted CruzĀ shared photos of himself standing on the side of the freeway, painting over graffiti targeting slain right-wing talk show host and activist Charlie Kirk.
With a paint roller brush in hand, Cruz is pictured painting over an expletive on the side of US 59 in Houston, Texas, in a post he shared on X on Sept. 14. Cruz also shared a video of himself cleaning up the graffiti, which he captioned, āerasing evil.ā
āTXDOT has been notified & Iām sure sure they will remove it expeditiously. But, in the meantime, Texans donāt have to look at this hateful garbage anymore,ā Cruz wrote on X.
Kirk, 31, was killed by a single gunshot on Sept. 10 whileĀ speaking in front of some 3,000 peopleĀ as part of his āAmerican Comeback Tourā at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City. Kirk was answering an audience question about mass shootings when the bullet struck his neck, causing students and visitors to flee in panic.

Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old man who attended school in the south Utah city of St. George, was named as the suspected shooter.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, as Robinson is reportedly not cooperating with investigators, though law enforcement have been speaking with those around him, including his family and his roommate.
