MOSS BLUFF, La. (KLFY) — A man who allegedly stole $10,000 in cash from a Calcasieu Parish gas station was found and arrested at a local casino, authorities said.
Richard D. Gray, 38, of Houston, Texas, is charged with simple burglary and theft between $5,000-$25,000.
Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched Sept. 12 to a business on Sam Houston Jones Parkway in Moss Bluff in reference to a reported vehicle burglary. The victim said he stopped at a gas station and another business after withdrawing $10,000 from his bank.

CPSO detectives said security footage from the bank showed a maroon Dodge pickup following the victim out of the parking lot, follow the victim to the gas station parking lot and pull up next to him. After the victim exited his vehicle, the suspect, later identified as Gray, got out of his truck, opened the victim’s passenger door, got back into his truck and left the scene, authorities said.
With the assistance of the CPSO Real Time Crime Center, detectives were able to locate Gray at a local casino, officials said.
He was interviewed, arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Bond details were not released.
The investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible, authorities said.
