Connecticut has several of the most expensive ZIP codes in the country to buy a home, and that number is only growing, at least according to a new study.
Real estate data website PropertyShark released its annual ranking of the most expensive ZIP codes in the United States for home sales earlier this month, and Connecticut had seven ZIP codes make the list, up from four in 2024.

The 06878 ZIP code in Greenwich’s Riverside neighborhood was the most expensive in the state with a $2.75 million median sale price, followed by 06870 in Old Greenwich with a “record” median sale price of $2.65 million. All seven Connecticut ZIP codes listed were in Fairfield County.
According to PropertyShark, Connecticut’s seven ZIP codes was a record in the company’s 10 years of releasing the report, the state had never before had more than four. Connecticut surpassed Massachusetts for the first time, and had the third highest representation of any state on the list, trailing only New York and California.
Greenwich itself placed four ZIP codes on the list, outpacing New York City, which had three, all in Manhattan.
“PropertyShark’s most expensive zip codes ranking draws on actual closed sales data to chart the evolution of U.S. real estate and wealth, the site wrote in its study. “By measuring median sale prices rather than listings, our top 100 report tracks where high-end transactions truly close, not where sellers are asking the highest prices – a crucial distinction in a year when the map of luxury housing shifted once again.”
The top ZIP code in the country, according to PropertyShark was 33109 in Miami Beach, Florida, with a median sale price of $9.5 million.
To calculate the most expensive ZIP codes in the U.S., PropertyShark used registered residential transactions closed between Jan.1 and Sept. 30, 2025.
