ZOTA Professional Training, a training organization, analyzed state-by-state employment and wage data from the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics to identify the most common job in each state and where they pay the most. The “most common” job was identified by the highest employment numbers per state. The related wages came from the hourly mean and annual mean.
Across the U.S., the study found that some widespread roles earned modestly while other less common jobs topped six figures in some places.
The most common job in Delaware is fast food and counter workers. The state has 13,800 people employed in this role, with $15.29 as the hourly mean wage and $31,803.20 as the annual mean wage.
