COLUMBIA, S.C. (WSPA) – The Turning Point USA chapter at the University of South Carolina held a memorial service and vigil Monday night for the organization’s founder, Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on September 10, 2025.
The service was packed and filled with students, faculty, members of the community, and even children.
The night began with a capacity full memorial in a ballroom at the student union. Members of the Turning Point chapter shared speeches, songs, laughter, and tears, all in memory of Kirk, their role model.
Many shared personal stories about the Turning Point USA founder and spoke about how they will make it their mission to continue his path and make him proud.
“Charlie Kirk would not have surrendered, he would have doubled and tripled down, and he would’ve called on us to do the exact same. His fight is now our fight,” said Dylan Baldassarre, Field Representative at Turning Point USA.
The night ended with thousands of people joined together for a candle light vigil in the exact same place Kirk visited USC in April.
