President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, on his 65th birthday, describing him as a “principled reformer and accomplished security professional.”
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu lauded Ribadu’s integrity and steadfast service to Nigeria.
The president recalled Ribadu’s pioneering leadership at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, where he championed accountability and strengthened the nation’s anti-corruption framework.
He said, “Since we struck a close relationship over 15 years ago, I have come to acknowledge and appreciate Nuhu’s honesty, forthrightness, and camaraderie.
“As a prominent member of our Renewed Hope Agenda team, I have found Nuhu to be a patriotic, loyal, and candid individual.
“As Nuhu turns 65 today, I fervently pray that Almighty Allah will grant him good health and greater wisdom to continue serving our beloved country.”
Born in Yola, Adamawa State, on November 21, 1960, Ribadu was appointed as National Security Adviser by Tinubu on June 19, 2023.
He served as the pioneer head of the EFCC from 2003 to 2007, where he led several high-profile investigations and prosecutions of corrupt public officials and fraudsters.
He is a recipient of several awards as a police officer, prosecutor, and former Chairman of the EFCC.
He received the Inspector General of Police Awards in 1997, 1998, and 2000, and the Special Commendation of the President in 2005 for the successful prosecution of advance fee fraud, banking fraud, and other economic crime cases.
