President Bola Tinubu returned to Abuja on Thursday, following diplomatic engagements in Japan and Brazil.

According to a statement by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, the presidential jet, which took off from Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at 12:57 pm (local time) Wednesday, touched down early morning on Thurday.

Tinubu attended the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) on August 20 in Japan.

He held bilateral meetings and rounded off with an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community.

Following the conclusion of TICAD 9, he departed Yokohama for a stopover in Los Angeles before proceeding to BrasĂlia.

In Brazil, he met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and senior Brazilian officials.
‎
‎The two leaders held private discussions and oversaw the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding.
‎
‎The MoUs spanned aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture—key sectors in Nigeria’s development agenda.

The President was welcomed by a host of dignitaries and officials.
