The parents of a 2-year-old boy were horrified when they saw their child reportedly fall 6 feet down a residential building’s elevator shaft.
The incident occurred on Saturday, Nov. 8, in Voronezh, Russia, according to Newsflare, which obtained a security video that showed the family standing together while waiting for the elevator to arrive.
As seen in the video, the little boy appeared to push or lean against the closed metal door, which then gave way, causing him to fall through the gap, Newsflare reported.
The boy’s father immediately squeezed through the opening in an attempt to pull him out, while his mother took out what appeared to be her smartphone’s flashlight to help.
Just moments later, the dad managed to retrieve the boy, who had fallen about 6 feet, and handed him to his mother, according to Newsflare, which also reported that after hearing the parents scream, neighbors rushed to help and managed to stop the elevator on another floor.
