“I have to say positive things about how conscientious they are about patrolling the area. At least from my perspective, I have no complaints with them! I’m glad to hear they have equipment and the resources to do the necessary investigations to bring this person to account,” said Jerome Nance, a resident.
Others say they feel confident in how the Maryland Heights Police are handling the investigation.
“At the time the trustees did not want connection because they were concerned with robberies and people running down the trail with their TVs! …. The city of Maryland Heights wanted to make it walkable. Really wanted to connect as many subdivisions to this trail as possible so we’re really lucky and fortunate that the city of Maryland Heights put this connection in,” said Amy Cutrell, a resident.
Maryland Heights Police have not disclosed whether the victim was injured or if a weapon was involved in the attack.
The Maryland Heights Police have informed FOX 2 that they currently have several leads in this case. Police are asking anyone who may have been on the trail to contact them at 314-298-8700.
