KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Two men were shot and killed Sunday morning in a grocery store parking lot in south Kansas City, according to police.
At about 7 a.m., officers with the Kansas City Police Department were called to a parking lot near Longview Road and Winchester Avenue on reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. KCPD attempted to save his life, but when emergency responders got to the scene, they confirmed he was dead.
Additional officers were called to the scene and taken to a different side of the grocery store parking lot. There, they found a second man suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries; however, just before 9 a.m., KCPD reported he had died.
Initial investigations reveal there was a fight between multiple people outside of the store before shots were fired.
At this time, crime scene investigators and detectives are working to gather evidence and talk to witnesses.

There is no suspect in custody, and this case is currently being investigated as a homicide.
