Oct. 6 (UPI) — The U.S. Census Bureau plans to hire about 1,500 temporary field workers at six test sites for the 2026 Census Test.
The Census Test is the Census Bureau’s chance to test new and enhanced activities to prepare for a complete and accurate count in the 2030 Census.
Available positions include census takers, outreach assistants, field supervisors and trainers.
Positions are temporary, part-time jobs with flexible hours, on-the-job training and competitive pay. No experience is needed.

Pay rates vary by the county in which an employee lives and range from $17.75 to $33 per hour for nonsupervisory positions and $19.50 to $36.25 per hour for supervisors.
