Does a video depict a true story of an IDF soldier who converted to Islam and became an activist for Palestine? No, that’s not true: The video uses clips showing several different women to illustrate a made-up story. The woman dancing in the first scene wearing an Israeli Army uniform is eyebrow artist Karin Edri. The woman pictured leading the Pro-Palestine protest is CUNY Law graduate Fatima Mohammed.
The video appeared in a post (archived here) published on Oct. 2, 2025 by @stairwayto3dom. It was captioned:
She went from Israeli soldier to a Muslim-anti genocide protester… Do you forgive her?

The story told in the text captions added to the video clips says:
My transition from (Israel) to peace (Palestine)
I realised how badly I had been corrupted
So I decided to take my shahdah (Islamic declaration of faith)
then became an activist for the ummah (community of all Muslims)
Lead Stories traced this first clip to the TikTok account that posted it on May 13, 2021. The video is now pinned (archived here) to the top of the @karinedri__1 account. There is another unique April 21, 2025 video (archived here) of these same two women dancing in uniform (pictured below). This demonstrates that Edri is posting her own videos to her own account. Recent posts on TikTok and Instagram show that Edri now runs an eyebrow salon bearing her name.

The final scene in the video posted on X (pictured below) shows a woman with a microphone striding ahead of a protest march.

This woman is Fatima Mohammed, a graduate of the City University of New York (CUNY) who has been in the news for her activism. The backlash against her commencement speech in 2023 was reported by the New York Times, CUNY Law Review, and New York City Bar Association. On Oct. 2, 2025 Mohammed identified herself in response (archived here) to the fake video story on X (embedded below)
The close up image of a woman crying appears in a July 22, 2024 TikTok teaser for a song by Cian Ducrot, “Can’t Even Hate You”. Lead Stories did not identify the woman in the conversion scene, but the house of worship pictured is The Islamic Center of the North East Valley in Scottsdale, AZ (seen here on YouTube).
