ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Virginia Department of Forestry is reporting its first fall foliage report of 2025.
The drier weather in August and September is allowing the fall’s coloring to show earlier than normal; however, most of the colors on the trees won’t shine through until October.

The peak of fall coloration in Virginia varies, and during the week one report, they said factors such as temperature and rainfall will determine the peak as it varies each year.
While you wait for the coloring of leaves in October, wildflowers can be found on unmown roadsides and fields.
