FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Tennessee Valley Authority and Florence Arts & Museums are seeking volunteers to monitor archaeological sites in the Tennessee River Valley.

The Tennessee Valley Authority’s Thousand Eyes program is an archaeological site stewardship training program that educates and mobilizes volunteers to monitor protected sites, such as indigenous burial grounds and village sites, for signs of looting, vandalism, and environmental damage.

The classroom training portion will be held on Saturday, September 20. The on-site demonstration will be held on Sunday, September 21.

Requirements to be a volunteer include:
