ABC 7 New York once again celebrated big at the New York Emmy Awards on Saturday night.
In total, WABC-TV won 17 Emmys, including one of the top awards of the evening for “News Excellence.”
Among the Emmy recipients included veteran Eyewitness News Reporter Stacey Sager, who won a trophy for her very personal special, “3 Decades, 3 Cancers.”
“This is way more than a story, this is way more than an Emmy for a story. It’s an Emmy for my life, It’s an Emmy for survival,” Sager said during her acceptance speech. “Three cancers over three decades — I want to dedicate this to Marilyn, my mother, who lost her life so early. She had no idea, but her death saved me from mine.”
