A new kind of art event is coming to Montgomery. On Monday, Aug. 25, the Alabama Resisters Chapter of Indivisible will host its first Protest Art Pop-Up at The NewSouth Bookstore.

The event highlights the role of protest art in grassroots movements, showcasing both newly created and previously displayed pieces used in past demonstrations around Montgomery. Organizers say it’s about making activism more accessible and visually powerful.

Art that speaks out

Attendees will be able to preview posters, flyers, photographs and banners connected to local protests. Some pieces are fine art, while others are made with simple materials like cardboard and marker. All reflect the messages and energy of activism.

“We believe that in this time of uncertainty and distress, expression and community are vital tools for the growth of civic participation,” said Alabama Resisters Chapter of Indivisible Media Liaison Rachel Sipper.

The NewSouth Bookstore is located at 105 S. Court Street in Montgomery. The event will run from 5:30 p.m. and is free to attend. While admission is open to all, organizers encourage attendees to register in advance at https://www.mobilize.us/indivisble/event/826873/.

Who are the Alabama Resisters?
