Passengers are having better experiences at airports in North America, according to a recent airport satisfaction survey by J.D. Power. That includes some of Ohio’s airports.
The North America Airport Satisfaction Study evaluated passenger satisfaction across mega, large and medium airports. All three of Ohio’s major airports are considered “medium,” each seeing 4.5 to 9.9 million passengers every year, per the study.

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport top 10 in best medium-sized airports
The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport will be undergoing Elevate CVG, a multi-year terminal modernization program.
When it comes to overall customer satisfaction, respondents ranked Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) No. 10 among medium airports, outperforming both John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE).
Based on a 1,000-point scale, CVG scored 660 points, which was slightly above the average satisfaction score of 656 for medium airports.
The study examined travelers’ experiences across seven core dimensions (in order of importance) to determine the rankings:

John Glenn Columbus, Cleveland Hopkins score just below average for customer satisfaction
John Glenn Columbus (CMH) followed CVG in the medium airport rankings with a 639 score that was slightly below average and near the middle of the pack. took the next-highest spot, scoring a slightly lower 639 points. Cleveland Hopkins trailed furthest behind at 611 points, ranking ahead of Edmonton, Canada’s airport.
The J.D. Power ranking notes that of the airports that scored favorably, improvements to airport facilities as well as incorporating local food and beverage brands helped boost traveler experience.
